McCarthy Catholic College is a learning community where the values of integrity, peace and justice are brought to life for students, staff, families and the wider community of our parish and diocese.
The beliefs and traditions of the Catholic faith are the foundation for our learning, teaching and relationships. We nurture the spiritual development of students, staff and parents and see enormous value in formal religious education. We treat each person with dignity and respect and we acknowledge and welcome parents and caregivers as the primary educators of their children.
We support students in becoming independent, thoughtful and compassionate young people. We work together to ensure learning at McCarthy Catholic College is inclusive, positive, challenging and enjoyable. We provide a safe, caring and welcoming environment where staff value and demonstrate the importance of continual professional learning. McCarthy Catholic College challenges students to strive for personal growth and development in the spiritual, academic and community spheres.
The motto: ‘Integrity, Justice, Peace’
These values are held in high regard at McCarthy. In our community members are challenged to strive for personal excellence.
The crest: The dove is the dove of peace, reflecting the words of our motto.
It is a reminder that McCarthy was founded in the International Year of Peace and that peace can only come through the Spirit of God, also represented by the dove.
The cross: CHI and KHO (X and P) are the first two Greek letters of Christos, or Christ.
Together they have been used as a Christian symbol since ancient times. The stylised form of this symbol in our crest expresses our faith in Christ and in the values of his cross.
